In May 2018 we packed our bags and snorkels, and headed out on the open seas with Mickey Mouse aboard the Disney Fantasy. We love Disney and we love cruising so for us Disney Cruise Line is a match made in heaven.
In fact we are currently gearing up for our next Disney Cruise coming up in October of this year. As we plan and wait in anticipation, we love to look back on our last trip videos and reminisce all the amazing times we had.
This 2018 cruise was a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise out of Port Canaveral on the Disney Fantasy. The itinerary originally included Tortola and St. Thomas (in addition to a fan favorite stop at Disney’s private island Castaway Cay). However, the previous fall’s hurricanes and subsequent damage made Tortola unable to be visited so we had a last minute swap of that port to St. Maarten. We were a little disappointed because we had not ever been to Tortola (something we hope to change on the next cruise this fall).
What made this trip extra special was that Granna tagged along for her first Disney Cruise Line experience. We loved getting to share the trip adventures with her. Disney Cruise Line knows how to do cruising and make a trip enjoyable simultaneously for a grandparent, parents, 5 year old and just barely one year old. Yes, we took a 12 month old on a cruise – and managed to survive and thrive. I feel like I tell people all the time to not be scared to take babies on cruises – it is actually a super easy and convenient way to travel with little ones.
Below are the links to the multiple vlogs we put together about our time aboard the Disney Fantasy.
This looks amazing! I’ve been wanting to do a Disney Cruise. Might just have to now.
It is one of our absolute favorite ways to vacation. You should definitely give it a go someday!
This seems like such a fun trip! I think my daughter would enjoy this so much, as she really likes the Disney characters! Thank you for sharing.
It was so fun! I bet your daughter would love it! Characters are all over the place on board. 🙂
Oh my goodness this sounds amazing! I have been on a regular cruise and loved it! My husband has not! I would love to take the kids on one of these and also nice to know that you can thrive with a baby along! Thank you!!
Thank you! I don’t think there is such a thing as a regular cruise…they are all amazing no matter the cruise line or itinerary. 🙂 I bet your kids would have a blast on a cruise!
So much fun! Love this! Never been on a cruise but hopefully will a Disney one someday ✨🙌🏻
You absolutely need to someday! Any cruises, especially Disney ones, are amazing!
My family and I really enjoy cruising! We’ve never ventured aboard a Disney cruise. Now we must!

We love cruising as well, with all cruise lines! We cannot wait for our next one…October cannot get here soon enough. You should definitely check Disney out someday! 🙂
This looks like so much fun! I’m nervous about cruises because I get crazy motion sick, but a Disney cruise would certainly be the one to tempt me!
I hear you! Our family has never had motion sickness, but I can imagine knowing it is a problem can really make you question planning a vacation out on the sea! My biggest tips if you ever want to try it would be 1) start out with a short cruise in case it does actually make anyone sick, 2) take medication or those wrist band things that help with sickness just in case, 3) go on a big boat…the bigger boats have more mass and less movement, and 4) stick to a cruise in calmer waters (i.e. don’t go out into the middle of the Atlantic or Pacific oceans. 🙂
